About
Our blended family has always loved outdoor adventures. We have spent countless hours exploring the deserts and mountains of Utah. Our two family names, Bollwerk and Adler, combined makes our nickname The Bollders. The Bollders consist of 9 amazing individuals.
When our daughter was born in 2013, we decided to raise her as a wild child. Now that the older kids have left the house, it is just the three of us: Carolyn, Will, and Dylan. It was time for us to sell the house and choose A Bollder Way. |
Carolyn is an environmental educator who loves all things outdoors (except maybe mosquitoes, leaches, and ticks). She spent a majority of her adult life educating people about the world around us. She therefore strives to learn as much as possible about nature and how humans interact with it. She is the mother of 4 amazing kids, ranging from 4 to 25 years old. All of whom share her passion for being outside in a variety of ways. She is looking forward to meeting and interacting with new, like-minded people, learning the art of letting go of things not within her control, seeing parts of the U.S. that she has not henceforth discovered, and spending quality time with her traveling companions.
Will is a teacher at heart. He has been teaching all ages of humans for over a decade. He dreams of having the property to run a forest kindergarten and educational farming program for teenagers. Will also loves singing, playing his ukulele and guitar, acting on stage, and everything nature-related. During this journey, he hopes to improve his knowledge of botany and birds, his juggling skills, and wants to write several songs. He has a blog of earlier writings found here. It is recommended that you start at the beginning with the incredible journey he had.
Gwendylan (a.k.a. Dylan) is a princess who loves climbing trees and digging in the dirt for worms. She won't pass up an opportunity to dress up with make-up and perform yet is always excited to catch a new creepy crawly to show her friends. She is an excellent hiker, biker, climber, and self-proclaimed animal whisperer ("All animals love me"). She is excited to find a stage wherever we go, increasing her collection of Junior Ranger badges, and seeing all the bats and wildlife.
The three of us know that this is a rare opportunity for us to have the luxury of spending time on the road in order to see and experience things that we may not have been able to otherwise. We miss and love the rest of our Bollder clan who have remained in Utah and can't wait to see them again. We are embarking on this journey with the intent of a final destination of Nova Scotia, Cananda where we plan to start a Farm-to-Table Bed and Breakfast and educational retreat facility.
